Description
Swiss. 1975. 18K yellow gold case and band. 33mm case diameter. In 1932 Patek Philippe produced the first model of the Calatrava collection. The name Calatrava is taken from that of the cross which is used as Patek Philippe's emblem. This timeless, understated watch is inspired by the minimalist principles of the Bauhaus school of art and architecture which adheres to the principle that form must follow function. The round case of the Calatrava reflects the circular form of the movement, and the clarity and legibility of its clear, pure dial. The 33mm 18kt yellow gold case houses calibre 215. This movement has a height of a mere 2.55 mm. The case and bracelet are solid 18kt yellow gold. The dial has a pleasing Clous de Paris dial. It is impossible to speak of Patek Philippe with paying homage to the brands legendary status as the most prolific and desirable watch manufacture of past, present and future generations. The unparalleled renown and prestige that Patek Philippe has acquired amongst connoisseurs is not due solely to the perfection of the watches and the resources of knowledge and skill contained in the workshops. This undisputed supremacy also stems from the consistency with which the company has applied its philosophy of excellence ever since it was founded in 1839. Box and papers are not included with this watch Subject to reserve. CODE:WAT
