This single tone Atkinson bottle exhibits a somewhat distressed surface finish from many years of being underground. The top of the bottle was likely off when the bottle was dug as it appears that a large section of the blob has been glued back into place. The bottle is marked, "W. Atkinson Ginger Beer Guelph, Ont". Although the potter's stamp on the base is illegible, the consensus is that this bottle was made by the Brantford Stoneware Co. There's a small flake off of the base and a small inner piece of the blob is missing as well (refer to photos). The bail wire and iron cap are heavily oxidized and the bottle appears to have been clear-coated or touched up at some point. 8 x 2.75" (diam).
