This is one of three Matthews stone bottles offered in this auction. This bottle is ivory in colour with square shoulders, a straight collar and "lightning stopper" closure. The bottle is marked, "Matthews Ginger Beer, Guelph / Works / Brock Road" (formerly Dundas Rd.). The bottle exhibits a few minor imperfections (a little nibbling along the shoulder and a couple of pot stone marks as seen in the photos) but otherwise is an excellent example. Makers stamp:, "H. Kennedy Barrowfield 12 Pottery Glasgow" (Henry Kennedy & Sons Ltd., Barrowfield Pottery, 1866 - 1929) to base edge. 7.75 x 2.75" (diam). Bail wire exhibits moderate oxidation. CODE:POT
