Description
Debossed, "Cameron Keeps the Prices Down, John A. Cameron. Grocer, Guelph". 12 x 12" (diam). Several small "dime size" areas of glaze loss appear to have had some colour restoration (most notably in the floral decoration). Rim chip (approx. 2 x 1") at the back. Although it's hard to know for certain which pottery produced this crock, the floral decoration is very similar to those used by James Burns Toronto Pottery (1881-1887) as well as W.E. Welding Brantford Pottery (1873-1894). This jug is pictured on page 21 and the rear cover of "Jugs & Crocks of the Guelph Merchants" by Joyce Blyth. CODE:POT
