Debossed, "John Risk Grocer & Wine Merchant No 1 Days Block Guelph". 12 x 7" (diam). The 1873 Town of Guelph directory lists John Risk "as a grocer residing on Cork St. with his business located at the corner of Wyndham & MacDonnell" (2 blocks away). The jug exhibits a small void and several hairline cracks in the base which, with the exception of one, extend anywhere from .75" to 2.25" up the sides. One of these is intersected by another hairline above the base running horizontally for 5.75" across the front of the jug. The other hairline crack, towards the back of the jug, travels 4.75" up from the base. A chip (0.75" x 0.5") exists on the face of the lip (left side) and another chip (0.5" x 0.5") exists on the top of the lip (right side).
