Carved Russian prialka (distaff), exceptional paint and form with multiple geometric carved rosettes, squares, and semi circles in white, and black on a dry red ground. Threads of flax would be attached to the teeth at the top of the plank and the weaver would straddle the seat to hold the work steady.
