Oil on canvas by Chief James Beaver (1846-1925). Known as Ontario's "Six Nations Artist", the self-taught and jack-of-all-trades James Beaver travelled the Grand River from Caledonia to Brantford in the 1890s, painting houses and buildings for a living. At one period he also travelled out West with travelling carnivals which is when he may have gotten the inspiration for this painting. On the original stretcher, no repairs.
