A small pine chest of drawers from Nova Scotia in mahogany grained paint. Vernacular Empire influence with a bracket base and having a large bottom drawer, a shaped front overhanging top drawer with divided interior, and two middle drawers being flanked by split columns. The drawers are all dovetailed with paneled bottoms affixed with wooden pegs. The mahogany grained case sits independently on an original black painted dovetailed bracket base. Constructed in hard pine typical of the Maritimes with a beveled edge pegged top, original knobs. Mid 19th century. H: 36", L: 32", W: 17". CODE:FUR
