Description
Dutch. Amsterdam. 1770. Plated movement, quarter striking. Dial with applied seconds ring, moon dial and date aperture. Carved hood with oak leaves and acorns. Four figurines with Mercury as the principal finial. Bombay base. Animated movement with windmills and man fishing. According to the letter of provenance, Henry Parish Kernochan purchased this clock shortly after the Civil War. Ex. Dana Blackwell Collection. 110 x 23 x 12". Mechanically functioning.
