Dutch. 1725. Walnut case with barley twist columns. Rare. Rope drive time, strike and alarm. Dutch striking with quarter strike. Crown wheel escapement. Heart-shaped spokes. Barley twist columns. Formerly sold at Sotheby's. Made in Zaanse region of Holland (near Amsterdam) between 1690-1725. Dial signed, "Koogies Jan Worner Veer". Inscription "Nu Elck Syn-Sin" (middle Dutch "now to each his own"). 33.5 x 13 x 9". Case refinished. Correct weights and horseman pendulum. Cathy & Gerry Koolen Collection. CODE:CLO
