16 size, 21 jewels 8 adjustments. Solid 18K gold case. Cuvette engraved �Awarded Third Prize Geneva Astronomical Observatory Timing Contest 1912-1913� Patek, Philippe & Co. Geneva, Switzerland. The cuvette also bears the serial number �161177�, which also appears on the movement. The caseback has been engraved with an attractive monogram �HFS� for Henry Francis Strathy, born in 1898. The watch is being offered with full family provenance. The nickel-lever movement is marked �Extra� Eight (8) Adjustments 21 Jewels. It is marked with the serial number 161177 twice. It features wolf�s tooth winding gears and a Guillaume balance. The porcelain dial features black Breguet numerals and a sub-seconds dial at 6 o�clock. CONDITION: Case is excellent with just a few shallow impressions. The movement is excellent with just very minor, scattered surface scratches and no surface oxidization. The hands are also free of oxidization. Fitted with a glass dome crystal. A truly rare opportunity to own a highly sought after observatory award-winning Patek Philippe.
