Ontario. Eastern Townships. Circa 1880s-1890s. Attributed Constructed of solid birdseye maple. Panelled sides. The clean neoclassical style accented with dentil moulding beneath cornice suggest origins of Ontario's Eastern townships. Pull-out ironing board. 56.75" x 23" x 89.5". Crafted of solid birdseye maple with spectacular figuring. Design is a throwback to the 1850s, 60s look. Use of round and square nails. Ash tongue and groove backboards applied with round nails. Beaded quarter columns, refinished. Upper doors have twelve carefully drilled, and filled holes where a lock mechanism was once mounted. Base is missing an upper recessed shelf.
