China. Tea bowl and saucer from Nanking Cargo, the ship carrying the Chinese export porcelain cargo sank in 1750 and was discovered in the 1980s. The cargo was headed for Amsterdam, where Christie's held the auction sale 235 year later. The pattern is "Bamboo and Peony". C. 1750 - 50/100. Retains original lot tag from Christie's underneath.
